Our Mission: Villa Maria Education & Spirituality Center provides and promotes educational and spiritual experiences in a unique setting for people of all ages, faiths, and economic status.
We offer the following services with qualified professionals:
Group Programs: Retreats, Educational Workshops and Staff Development Programs can be designed to meet the particular needs of your group. We also welcome groups who share our mission to hold their meetings, retreats or workshops in our beautiful facilities. Our staff is ready to help make your program a success. Spiritual Direction: Spiritual Direction provides an opportunity to reflect, in a prayerful context, on one’s life in relationship with self, others, and God. Our spiritual directors are Cathy Cawley, Ardath Blake, HM, Barbara Lenarcic, HM and Marguerite Holz, HM. Call Cathy Cawley at 724-964-8886 for more information or to make an appointment.
Pastoral Counseling: A form of therapy that honors the connection between a person’s mental, emotional and spiritual health by including the faith and religion of a counselee as a necessary resource in the healing process. It is built on the belief that human beings yearn for a transforming connection with the Divine and that psychological therapy can mediate the loving and healing action involved in a person’s relationship with a Divine Being or Higher Power. Retreat in Daily Life: The Spiritual Exercises are offered by each of our spiritual directors. The focus of the Exercises is finding God in all things. Making the Spiritual Exercises over a six to eight month period, the retreatant meets at least twice a month with the director and commits to one hour of prayer each day, patterned on the meditations offered by St. Ignatius for the four ”weeks“ of the Exercises and the dynamics operative in each of them. It is recommended that prior to the start of the retreat, the retreatant has made one six to eight day directed retreat, two to three directed prayer weekends, or has experienced some ongoing spiritual direction.
