"The Maternal Womb of Mercy"
Presenter: Brother Mickey McGrath

Pope Francis has said the Church should be a Maternal Womb of Mercy, a home of joy and love, not a cold institution centered on rules and regulations. In this popular presentation Bro. Mickey will share his colorful paintings and the stories behind them. Each is inspired by the Gospel and the lives of the saints from across time. In these anxious times of fear and division, come feel the healing power of beauty and joy, and a reminder of the gentle and loving Maternal side of God.

Brother Mickey McGrath, an Oblate of St. Francis de Sales, lives and works in Camden,NJ. He is an award winning artist, author, and speaker whose work celebrates the deep connections between art, beauty, and religious faith. In addition to painting on commission for churches and schools, Bro Mickey is currently leading an ongoing mural painting project at Joseph’s House, a homeless shelter in Camden, with the help of volunteers of all ages and backgrounds. He has also created paintings for Catholic Relief Services which are featured in their video series on Catholic Social teaching. Bro. Mickey is also a popular presenter at conferences and retreats throughout the US and Canada at which he shares his colorful interpretations of stories from the Gospels and the lives of the saints, focusing on the healing power of the creative spirit dwelling within each of us- with a refreshing blend of humor and depth.
