"Illuminating Justice with the Art of
The Saint John's Bible"

with Jonathan Homrighausen

When calligrapher Donald Jackson put the final touches on The Saint John’s Bible in 2011, nobody doubted that this was a monument of creativity and art unparalleled in our age. In an afternoon workshop and evening lecture, Scripture scholar Jonathan Homrighausen will show how this project is also a monument of Catholic ethics and exegesis. Interweaving Catholic teachings and exegesis with this Bible’s illuminations, he will show how this Bible can inspire the spiritual and moral imagination for the twenty-first century. He will especially focus on women’s narratives in the Bible and Jewish-Catholic peace.  Attendance at the afternoon lecture is not a prerequisite for the evening session.
