Mindful Resilience 1
with Maureen Lauer-Gatta

What is the true source of your resilience?

Many of us may seek outside resources such as education, family, friends as well as one's own self-confidence or beliefs about themselves, which are strong areas of support in our lives. One's own resilience comes from within. When you begin to build this muscle of resilience you can begin to see challenges in a new way with a new light.

In Mindful Resilience 1, we will explore how we view our life and our perception of reality. During our time together we will utilize the practices of Mindfulness in ways you may have not practiced before. It is an opportunity to befriend each moment with awareness, kindness and, of course, our humanness. We will explore the peace, harmony and stillness that lies within.

We will practice seeing our world through our senses and apply such practices as: sitting quietly, following our breath, walking meditation, easing our body and mind, eating mindfully, and practicing easy yoga as well as some very practical exercises that will help in structuring our day with greater joy. These are all tools that you can implement into your life to create greater peace, harmony, and stillness within.

Each time you uncover the peace within you, it becomes more natural to access. The tools and practices you learn in our precious time together will easily integrate into your daily life.

Program will be limited to 10 participants.

Mindful Resilience 2 will be offered on Sunday, November 7, 2021.

Completion of the Mindful Resilience 1 program is required to participate in the Mindful Resilience 2 program.

Maureen Lauer-Gatta, has been a teacher of yoga, meditation and mindfulness for over 2 decades. During the pandemic she has immersed herself as a student with her beloved teachers delving deeper into the wisdom teachings of Buddhism with Dawa Tarchin Phillips from California and the science of yoga with Swami Dharmakirti from India. Maureen has a gift of bringing ease, insight, understanding and humor through experiential practices that are accessible in each moment but also practical in our everyday life. She has attended the Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Program taught by Jon Kabit-Zinn and Saki Santorelli as well as Mindful Schools training where she has taught hundreds of children mindfulness and yoga. She teaches Mindfulness at Youngstown State University and is the former owner of The Yoga Room in Niles, Ohio.
